It's a period property with proper character and views across the links course to the beach and Dunstanburgh Castle from the front lounge. Embleton Bay is a wide sandy beach half a mile away and Dunstanburgh Castle sits two miles south along the sand - a proper coastal walk with a ruin at the end of it. Newton-by-the-Sea is three miles north. This stretch of coast is good for birdwatching, cycling, sailing and windsurfing and golfers have a course on the doorstep. Seahouses, seven miles off, runs boat trips out to the Farne Islands for seal and bird watching.

Bedrooms include a king-size with dressing area and en-suite, a twin with inland views and a double with sea views, all on the first floor. The second floor holds a king-size zip-and-link room and a twin zip-and-link room, both adjustable to guest preference. Three bathrooms serve the house, including a Jack and Jill shower room upstairs. Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen has a range cooker, wine cooler and a refectory table seating 10, plus two separate living areas - one with an open fire, the other with a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace.

Beyond the beach and castle, Bamburgh is 10 miles off with its castle and coastline. Craster makes a pleasant coastal walk from Embleton, known for its smokehouse. The local pub and well-stocked shop are both close by for essentials and a pint after a day outdoors.
