About Alnside Cottage

Alnside Cottage is a semi-detached cottage in the rural village of Lesbury, Northumberland. It sleeps four across one king-size bedroom and one twin, both decorated in contemporary grey. Lesbury sits close to the coast and gives easy access to the coastal route. Alnmouth, a former port for Alnwick, is now an unspoilt seaside town with sandy beaches, an estuary and a golf course. Walkers can head straight from the cottage towards the beach and there's fishing in nearby rivers.

Several guests call this a good base for exploring the wider Northumberland region.

The cottage has a shower room with walk-in shower plus a separate cloakroom with basin and WC, handy for a family of four. Outside there are enclosed front and rear gardens with a gravelled patio that catches sun all day, plus garden furniture for outdoor meals. Off-road parking fits two cars.

Alnmouth beach is just over a mile away, an easy walk or short drive for sand and sea air. Alnwick Castle and Alnwick Garden, including the Poison Garden, sit 4 miles off (under 10 minutes by car) and are popular with Harry Potter fans. Alnwick town also has independent shops, tea rooms and supermarkets. A local shop is a five-minute walk from the door and a pub is just under 2 miles up the road.

Alnside Cottage is a great property well equipped, comfortable, clean and easy to find. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.
We did have a few issues with the cottage, namely the utility room was full of spiders, we cleared them but took a while. We realise it's a cottage but a wipe down on cleaning day would solve the problem. We washed our clothes but couldn't get the clothesline to stay up. Northumbrian cottages fitted another within hours. The front garden could do with a clear up, particularly the path.

Lovely comfortable, small cottage. Very well equiped and all you need for a stay. Great location for visiting the various castles and sites on the coast and beach walks. Plenty of good restaurants and pubs in easy reach, even a pub up the road.

Beautiful cottage in a great location for exploring local area. Would definitely recommend it to anyone considering visiting the area. Only a short drive to Alnmouth where there are local shops, restaurants & pubs and Alnwick is less than 10 minutes drive away where there is a good selection of supermarkets, independent shops, tea rooms, pubs and for the Harry Potter fans there is Alnwick castle & gardens well worth a visit.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. We arrived to a warm , welcoming cosy cottage just want you need after a long journey. The cottage is ideally positioned you can walk to the beach in alnmouth a good walk and you are 10 minutes in the car to a great selection of food shops .You also have easy access to the coastal route. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge comfortable. A great find !!
